Master Teacher Ted Margaris

Ted has some kids in his class that may not like every task that he gives them, but he knows in the end that they respect him. His classroom budget always seems to be getting cut these days, but he and his wife have saved up a little money to make sure the kids have some of the extra resources that they need in order to be successful. Ted is Language Arts teacher who takes the time to buy novels for their students on his own dime. Ted wants his students to truly explore some of the great authors like Thomas McGuane or Ernest Hemingway.

Ted the Teacher encourages his students to go to writing camps, he knows that not all of them may like writing after they get done with it, but the whole process is about building social skills and finding life long friends as well. Ted knows that he'll never make much money as an instructor, but when he hears about one of his former students graduating from college, he knows his time in Chicago is well worth it. Ted believes that all students have a certain amount of potential and he wants to do everything he can to make sure that they have the opportunity to reach that potential.

Ted Margaris sees potential in all of his students, but he knows that some kids have to work harder in order to get where they need to go. He understands this and he sees the needs to help kids with references and recommendation letters so they can get into the best schools. Ted is a little bothered when he hears that one of his students did not do as well as they had hoped on the English portion of the ACT, but Ted the Teacher knows that we just have to keep fighting and keep helping as many students as he can.

Chicago Artist Helps Sick Kids

Artist Ted Margaris in Chicago is able to paint an extremely positive picture of a world that can be very dark at times. A lot of people out there do not think that a good artist can do much to change the world. Chicago is a very large city, but at times many people that live there end up feeling they are all alone. A sick person that has to spend a lot of time in the hospital can certainly feel alone.

He wants to make sure people that are sick do not feel like they are alone. This artist drops off pictures to kids that don't get many visitors in the hospitals, his paintings are meant to keep kids in a positive mindset and to let the kids know that the world cares about them. You do not have to know a person well to care about them, this is a point that Ted makes by dropping off his paintings and takes the time to auction off some of his paintings for charity so kids can get the treatments that they need and not have to worry about the costs of those treatments. There are a lot of people out there who may not be aware of the work that Ted does in the city of Chicago because he doesn't want any publicity or press on the matter.

Ted hopes to be able to create more paintings and get more money for them in the future. The paintings could be used to help combat the homelessness issue within the city of Chicago. The paintings could make enough in the future to help laid off workers be able to make mortgage payments in the future. The mortgage payments are something that have to be dealt with in order to keep people out of poverty. A number of people may want to pay him back, but Ted Margaris only wants those people to be happy.

A lot of people call themselves artist nowadays but to not exude the real essence or worth of being called an artist which is why the Artist Ted Margaris was started out in order to grasp how artist can involve their work into social change.
As an artist one has to be open to different perspectives, one has to be able to hone a craft. Artist Ted Margaris has focused on documenting the art community in Chicago as part of his contribution. He created a film to collect all of the situations that are happening all over town.
Many do not understand the concept of street art and some view it as destructive and rebellious. Ted got into the heart of exploring the people behind the street art. He collected ideas from artists on the streets and went and experienced their life.
A lot of people have entered the life of being too materialistic, more and more parents are focusing on earning money and buying cars and technological gadgets.
This leaves no room for expression for the children in their home, for real communication to come through. Many people want to fill the void of life by purchasing items, some even hoard them. With this analysis Ted was able to connect into his documentary the idea of why many go out and express themselves on the walls and pavements.
Some artists spray paint on the wall not as an act of rebellion but an attempt to provide color to a world filled with cement structures. In documenting the things that are occurring he has come up with a contribution on research regarding people and the way they express themselves in the city and how creativity can save people from destroying their own life. Art is needed to redeem oneself and to tell a message that one is not able to express in words.
